Role definition


This role will be responsible for deployment or daily maintenance of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) appliances with security.

Expected qualification and critical experiences –

  • 5+ years of experience in establishing baseline ISE security rules and policies while working with other service lane members
  • 5+ years of experience with redundant and high-availability Cisco ISE solutions
  • 5+ years of experience with deploying a NAC solution using Cisco ISE or industry-standard vendors
  • 1+ years of experience with performing systems administration in Windows, Linux, or VMware environments, including performing basic troubleshooting, installation, and configuration, monitoring system performance and availability, and performing security upgrades
  • Design, configure, and deploy Cisco ISE solutions to provide secure network access control, authentication, and authorization.
  • Develop and implement network access policies and security protocols to enforce compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Integrate Cisco ISE with other network infrastructure components, including switches, routers, firewalls, and authentication servers.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco ISE policies, profiles, and authentication methods to meet business needs.
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic using Cisco ISE to detect and respond to security threats and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network security solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve issues related to Cisco ISE implementation and operation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including design documents, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to network security and identity management.
  • Experience with physical or logical network engineering, including the installation and activation of ports, configuration of switches, LANs, VLANs, VPNs, and network FW appliances, or network administration services, such as Active Directory, guest VLANs, and domain management
  • Knowledge of protocols, including 802.1x, RADIUS, TACACS+, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and LDAP
  • Designs and implements wireless network systems to facilitate cost-efficient, secure, and reliable communications throughout the company and with outside service providers
  • Creates detailed network designs that meet the customer requirements (including physical and logical) of complex network systems to meet the functional objectives of the business
  • Writes/engineers network device configuration scripts with associated change documentation to meet project goals and deadlines
  • Establishes processes to test applications and devices before planned network deployment to quantify their performance and recommend steps to ensure they are optimized
  • Design, implement, and maintain LAN and WAN infrastructures to meet business requirements and ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Monitor network performance, analyze network traffic, and optimize network resources to maximize efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend network hardware, software, and services to meet current and future needs.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve network-related issues.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies outside of normal business hours as needed.
  • Design and deploy wireless network solutions using Meraki technologies to meet client requirements.
  • Configure and integrate Meraki wireless access points, switches, and security appliances into clients' networks.
  • Implement security best practices to protect wireless networks from unauthorized access and cyber threats.


Mandatory Skills and Certification:

  • Understanding of LAN and WAN technologies, including VLANs, spanning tree protocol (STP), routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), MPLS, VPNs, and QoS.
  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment, including switches, routers, and wireless controllers. certifications, CCNA, CCNP or CCIE
  • Aruba certifications in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ISE policies, authentication methods (802.1X, MAB), and identity sources (Active Directory, LDAP). Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and security issues.
  • Communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Routing/Switching & Security in writing HLD/LLD and Runbooks
  • HP Aruba experience
