About the role
Reporting to the Cylinders Business Unit Director, responsible for manufacturing operations on the Wakefield Site covering stainless and copper products along with distribution centre. This is a £25 million part of the wider Kingspan group and we are looking for a Factory Manager who is skilled at coaching, developing and mentoring the 5 Team leaders under their remit and the wider Wakefield site of 100 people.

Key Responsibilities
- Promoting a culture where health and safety is the number one priority.
- Continuously improve product quality and optimise manufacturing cost.
- Support business director in achieving profitability and return on sales targets.
- Champion and drive the teams through your vision to enhance the lean and continuous improvement culture of the business.
- Support commercial growth with reduced lead times, product innovation and competitive product cost.
- Develop and drive a long-term and strategic planning for operations inclusive of capital expenditure plans.
- Continuously develop and grow the operations team to support business growth.
- Change Management - Capable of inspiring others to explore new and innovative solutions to problems and opportunities.
- Leadership - Effective at motivating others to perform their roles efficiently and responsibly, including decision-making.
- Coaching and Development - Skilled in offering guidance and feedback to enhance specific knowledge and skills in others
- Performance Management: Set and drive KPIs for direct reports, ensuring performance is actively reviewed and measured against set budgets and targets. You will also lead factory-wide communications and ensure that key meetings and reviews are happening as needed.
Qualification and experience
- Engineering qualification (HND/ HNC/ Degree level)
- Lean/ Six Sigma experience
- Strong knowledge of operational excellence and continuous improvement techniques.
- A minimum of 5 years’ previous experience in a similar role within manufacturing industry.
- Health and Safety formal qualification (NEBOSH, or equivalent)
- Good analytical skills, numeracy accuracy and attention to detail
- Metal based product manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills
- Team focused with a can do attitude
