About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join our team in Aberdeen. The Finance Manager is a key role in our business and has responsibility for designing, implementing and directing all financial activities across Sinomine Specialty Fluids Ltd. The Finance Manager will advise management in all financial matters and have oversight of day-to-day maintenance of general accounting and/or financial reporting activities for the entity. The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all global financial account statements; monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes are carried out on time and to a high standard.  You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive work environment and will ensure that there is a focus on safety in all operations processes/procedures.


Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Finance Manager include but are not limited to:

 

•      Managing day-to-day finance activities: accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, treasury, inventory, assets and accounting. Oversee inventory counting/asset verification.

•      Overseeing accounting and/or financial analysis activities for a complex site, including local and international statutory and tax filings.  Has responsibility for legal compliance with all external reporting requirements. Main point of contact for external auditors and tax advisers.

•      Local and international statutory/tax, this previously stated local but currently is UK, Norway, India and Egypt.

•      Managing overall General Ledger transaction activities and related accounting practices as they pertain to the group sub-legers, including accounts payable, receivables, inventory and fixed assets.  Ensures accounting records are prepared and kept in accordance with IFRS.

•      Managing the consolidation of global financial account statements for preparation of necessary government/external filings.

•      Managing entity cash position, oversee treasury function. This includes follow up on receivables.

•      Recommending and developing processes required when the organization is entering into new countries for operations.

•      Recommending and developing processes/controls to enhance efficiency.

•      Overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance and identification of financial/business issues. Reporting results to group and the board.

•      Overseeing development and communication of forecasts, budgets and other financial information for senior management. Leads analysis to facilitate decisions regarding capital appropriations, expansion, pricing, product line changes, product/profit performance and others.

•      Managing, coaching and developing the finance team.


What qualities are required?

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and driven with a strong work ethic. You will have strong communication skills both verbal and written and have the ability to build trust and gain support across the organisation and have the ability to make decisions and take initiative. The ideal candidate will have an expert knowledge of accounting, financial principles and have the ability to apply these in a business setting. You will have a strong knowledge of global statutory and tax accounting and reporting requirements.   

 

Desired education and experience:

The ideal candidate will have University degree in Accounting / Finance and a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS)Previous experience in accounting/financial management role in a similar industry is preferable. The ability to speak Mandarin is desirable although not essential as is previous experience of using Sage Intacct.
