About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer to join the Facilities team based in our Pacific Quay office, Glasgow.
This role will work on a rota basis across a variety of day and night shifts.
Responsibilities of the role
- Ensuring the office is secured as appropriate.
- Complete accident and incident reports.
- Checking & issuing of employee \ visitors security passes.
- Undertake Health and Safety (H&S) Induction with all new employees.
- Monitoring the access control system at Pacific Quay and external properties.
- Monitoring fire panel \ isolating zones and liaise with Fire Officer during evacuations.
- Dealing with visitors and contractors, ensuring completion of Permit to Work if required.
- Undertake building checks for safety, fire hazards. Check fire extinguishers and H&S equipment.
- Answering of switchboard and dealing with enquiries in a professional, efficient, and appropriate manner.
- Checking and refilling of first aid boxes and undertake training on defibrillator.
- Monitoring fire exit doors & disabled toilet alarms.
- Regular testing of the fire and lift alarms.
- Checking and signing for packages.
- Booking of account and cash taxis ensuring compliance with company policy.
- Operating CCTV to monitor the internal and external facilities.
- Assist in any other aspects of the Company’s work as reasonably required.
Skills & experience
- Demonstrable experience in a Security related role is essential.
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety.
- Previous experience of liaising with emergency service personnel such as Fire Officer.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills as this role is the first port of call for any security queries via e-mail and telephone.
- Proactive, demonstrates initiative and willingness to take on responsibility.
- Competent PC skills in all MS Office software especially Word, Explorer, Outlook & MS Teams.
- Full clean driver’s licence is preferred but not essential.
- First Aid qualifications are desired but not essential as training will be provided.
