THE ROLE

The Production Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of manufacturing, including production planning and team management, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, quality, and efficiency are achieved. This role will oversee planning and production teams, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the manufacturing unit. A strong background in manufacturing is essential, and demonstrable skills in Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.

  • Demonstrated success in managing planning and production teams;
  • Results oriented.


MAIN DUTIES

  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all regulations and proactively addressing risks to provide a safe working environment;
  • Foster a supportive and ambitious team culture where colleagues feel valued, motivated, and empowered to achieve their full potential;
  • Lead by example in creating an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement;
  • Oversee all planning and production staff to ensure realistic and efficient production plans, optimizing labour and machinery resources;
  • Develop the production team in analysis techniques to meet on-time delivery (OTR) and on-time completion (OTC) targets;
  • Monitor daily adherence to production plans and address deviations promptly;
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Technical teams to ensure the seamless flow of information and materials;
  • Track and control labour costs relative to shipment targets;
  • Regularly review stock levels, adhering to customer agreements;
  • Provide status updates to the Commercial Team on orders, delivery timelines, and potential delays;
  • Monitor production processes and efficiencies, reporting discrepancies to relevant stakeholders;
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement lean manufacturing principles;
  • Conduct regular resource reviews with the General Manager to enhance efficiencies and minimize lead times;
  • Maintain holiday, sickness, and performance records to reduce disruptions;
  • Perform annual appraisals and manage team development;
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and escalate disciplinary matters to HR and the General Manager as needed.
