In addition to our free publicly available platform TalkLife, we recently launched TalkCampus which is a community designed specifically for universities and campuses. We now support c.3 million students across hundreds of universities globally and are growing rapidly. We’re proud of our real time safeguarding and clinical escalation and are driven to provide support that is both relevant and engaging. More recently, we have launched TalkLife Workplace, which provides peer-to-peer support for millions of employees at companies across the world.
We are looking for a Clinical Director who is able to combine their clinical experience with a proven track record of delivering in a fast paced scaling company. As Clinical Director you will lead our day to day clinical operations and provide a clinical steer and oversight across the company.
Core Elements of the Role:
Clinical Operations and Governance:
Lead the clinical operations of the company with responsibility for:
- Clinical governance, compliance and regulation with relevant UK policies, guidelines and standards and align with international standards
- Scaling and managing a team of 24/7 clinical moderators
- Incident reporting and escalation of at risk users across platforms
- Defining harmful content and influencing how it is identified and removed across communities, whilst supporting the end users
- User support pathways for those with a higher level of need/risk
- Mitigating and managing clinical risk across the organisation
Clinical Leadership:
- Play an active role in bringing clinical considerations to product and process across the organisation
- Represent the clinical function on project teams when exploring new verticals, markets and commercial opportunities
- Drive our impact and efficacy work ensuring we remain at the forefront of best practice and beyond.
- Develop an expert understanding of peer support as an intervention
- Support the sales and customer success function to communicate our clinical practices and support on external presentations where appropriate
What you’ll need:
- 5+ years relevant experience working in a clinical role
- Masters level (or higher) clinical qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent level, or equivalent managerial experience of working at a senior level
- Knowledge of the evolving relevant legislation and regulatory systems for mental health, safeguarding, and online safety, both in the UK and internationally
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- A desire to make things happen and ability to get things done whilst not sacrificing quality
- Comfortable working in an iterative, technology driven global team
- Experience working in a fast paced startup/scale-up or commercial environment is highly desirable
- Experience of young people's services, safeguarding, and the related procedures of referral of young people who are at risk would be desirable.
- To work out of our Bristol Office (this isn’t a remote role)
