ESS Recruit is currently working with an established engineering company that provides fabrication services for the oil and gas industry. This company has consistently responded to change by developing closer relationships with clients and contractors, while also experiencing significant growth from its small beginnings to the large multi-services firm it is today. The company is looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to support their repair work.



Job description


The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of repair order work scopes with the estimating, Procurement and expediting of materials for the individual scope of works.


Key Objectives of the Role



  • Support the Repair Orders team by carrying out the estimating, procurement and expediting of materials for the individual scopes as per: Repair Order & Minor Modifications Workflow, RACI, IMS-19A –onshore Integrated Services Procedure AES–MAN-001 – Project Management Manual the Repair Order & Minor Modifications Workflow
  • Compilation and submission of CTRs and Tender Summary docs, including the estimation of any fabrication work as required by the project (including any E&D provisions if required).
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive completion of Material Take Offs (MTOs)
  • Materials pricing, procurement and expediting to ensure timely delivery for fabrication
  • General support of Repair Orders team with any other duties when required to ensure client delivery
  • Raise any variations pertaining to the work and to raise the applicable CTR and variation number against the individual additional scope of work, ensuring that any affects to the Purchase Orders are taken in consideration
  • Update the appropriate system schedule/trackers to reflect the correct status
  • Liaison with the Engineering Manager to ensure that engineering deliverables are available to complete the fabrication phase of each work order, in accordance with the schedule
  • Manage approved vendors list to ensure appropriate suppliers are identified & maintained
  • Ensure purchase orders are issued in time and to the appropriate standard (as per company and client specifications) to meet job schedule and quality requirements in line with Purchasing Process
  • Co-ordination of collections of purchased goods using company vehicles & drivers
  • Communicate with stakeholders all information pertinent to delivery of work scopes on time and communicate any potential issues to allow contingency planning
  • Populate any updates to jobs & schedules using the latest company software packages as they develop
  • Ensure constant development of company processes to ensure efficient delivery of procurement service to meet the needs of the company as it evolves
  • Assist in the development of company scheduling and project management software as required





Experience Required


  • Estimating Piping Fabrication
  • Understanding Industry Piping and Piping Materials Codes & Standards
  • Effective Management of own duties & priorities
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders in a clear, concise & respectful manner
  • General computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Scheduling and Project Management/Procurement Software
  • Full & clean UK driving license
  • High standard of workmanship
  • Ability to react, work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to coach team members to achieve and maintain company standards


Advantageous


  • Experience in development & management of procurement systems & processes


The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced piping estimator with a background from the oil and gas or renewables industry.


This role will be based in Huntly. This is a full-time position offering an attractive salary plus benefits.
