Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Kenton Black is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Aberdeenshire based Transmission & Distribution team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a variety of projects, including drainage, access roads, foundations, utilities, and substations. The ideal candidate will have between 5-10 years' experience in a main or sub-contractor background, with a strong understanding of commercial management and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage budgets, profit plans, and BOQs
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts
  • Administer contract obligations and meet client requirements
  • Identify and report commercial risks to senior management
  • Collaborate with planning engineers to ensure accurate progress reporting
  • Cost and agree daily work changes, including subcontractor remeasurement and site dayworks
  • Maintain accurate records and provide detailed backup for commercial tracking and costing
Requirements
  • BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Extensive pre-con/estimating experience
  • Strong commercial management and contract administration skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
