Hayward Hawk are currently recruiting for a Technical Product Owner to join their fintech client.

This role is pivotal in driving the development and success of their product suite by bridging the gap between business requirements and technical execution.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and UX/UI designers, to define, prioritize, and execute product features that deliver maximum value to their customers and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Own the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. Identify and prioritize features based on market trends, customer feedback, and strategic objectives.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into technical specifications. Use data-driven insights to drive decision-making and prioritize features.
  • Backlog Management: Develop, refine, and manage the product backlog. Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and ensure timely completion of features in alignment with Agile methodologies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, data science, UX, and QA teams to design and implement product features that meet high standards of security, performance, and usability.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the point of contact between technical teams and business stakeholders. Communicate project status, gather feedback, and ensure alignment across all parties.
  • Market & Industry Analysis: Stay informed on the latest trends and advancements in fintech, including emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and customer preferences to ensure our products remain competitive and compliant.
  • Data & Analytics Integration: Drive the integration of advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science capabilities into the product, leveraging user data and financial insights to improve product functionality and user experience.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or product ownership, ideally in a fintech or data-driven environment.
  • Strong technical background with experience working closely with engineering and data teams; familiarity with APIs, SDKs, and cloud-based solutions is preferred.
  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and proficiency with product management tools such as JIRA or similar.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable tasks and understand user behaviour through data.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
