OLE Construction Manager – North London – c.£500pd – Six Month Rolling Contract

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced OLE Construction Manager to join a main contractor construction and technical team.

This role offers the perfect blend of technical, supervisory, and operational responsibilities, focusing on the construction and engineering assurance side of the business.


Your Role:

As the OLE Construction Manager, you will collaborate closely with engineers, senior management, and our skilled construction team to enhance the UK rail system. You will oversee construction activities, ensuring technical and quality assurance standards are met.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation Management: Support the construction team by handling assurance and handback documentation for planned site works, ensuring all paperwork is completed and correlated.
  • Project Planning: Collaborate with the OLE Construction Manager to develop and lead the OLE Construction plan and programme.
  • Design Review: Analyse issued Form A, B, and C/AFC designs with the Construction Manager and CRE, ensuring all project scopes are safely and fully delivered.
  • Technical Queries: Prepare Technical Queries for submission to the Design CRE/PE, addressing any design/construction anomalies.
  • Meetings & Workshops: Attend design meetings, project start-ups, IDCs, IDRs, DCIs, and Risk workshops.
  • Material Management: Order materials and manage their assurance upon delivery.
  • Leadership & Learning: Motivate and lead the OLE Tech team, fostering cross-functional learning.
  • On-Site Support: Aid the OLE Technical Engineer/Supervisor and Construction Manager in ensuring OLE works meet relevant standards and parameters.


Person Specification:

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years working as an OLE Engineer with proficiency in Series 1, Series 2, Mk1, Mk 3B, UK1 (Master Series).
  • Leadership Skills: Capable of leading and assisting OLEC3 Linesmen with technical guidance during installation and registration work.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiar with construction standards and EviFile for OLE Quality Assurance.
  • Detail-Oriented: Keen eye for detail in documenting construction activities for progressive assurance of OLE works.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends and over Bank Holidays as required.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assurance Documentation: Lead in managing assurance documentation/processes, including Height and Stagger forms, surveys, and Inspection Test Plans.
  • Quality Assurance: Understand and implement Quality Assurance processes to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Design Interpretation: Read and interpret OLE designs and apply all technical standards to our works.
  • Planning: Participate in planning OLE works with the Construction Manager/Supervisor, including work plans and plant orders.
