Main Duties/Responsibilities

Design Management

  • Oversee the design development process for specialist sub-contract elements, emphasizing value engineering and buildability.
  • Chair and coordinate Stage 5 design meetings, tracking progress against the program and communicating updates to site teams and consultants.
  • Identify and address key information requirements, including necessary site investigation surveys.
  • Review Stage 4 designs, clarifying information needs for Stage 5 design initiation.
  • Manage the procurement process for designers and consultants, securing competitive quotes and optimal pricing.
  • Appoint and brief design consultants, defining clear scopes of service to meet project requirements.
  • Create and manage comprehensive design programs to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Coordinate the design phase to achieve early approvals, material procurement, and technical submittals, adhering to RIBA Stages 4 & 5, client specifications, and relevant regulations.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the Stage 5 design program aligned with the overall contract timeline.
  • Review contractor proposals to mitigate risks and align pricing with project objectives.
  • Obtain necessary technical approvals from client-managed consultants.
  • Foster strong internal and external relationships to ensure collaborative design delivery.
  • Resolve design queries efficiently with pre-construction and production teams.
  • Conduct site visits to verify construction aligns with design intent and document findings.
  • Contribute to the creation of 'as-built' records and other project documentation.
  • Mentor and develop junior project coordinators.


Qualifications

Essential:

  • In-depth understanding of façade design and performance
  • Strong project ownership and management skills
  • Proficiency in material scheduling and coordination
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and AutoCAD viewer or DWG TrueView
  • Relevant building qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proficiency in Asta Power Projects
