Job Opportunity: Smart Building / IoT Programme Manager
6-Month Contract + extension
Location: Central London, hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days onsite)

About the Role
As a Technical Programme Manager, you will be responsible for orchestrating the execution of complex, multi-disciplinary projects related to smart infrastructure. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of key initiatives. The role will require you to drive organizational change, streamline processes, and foster continuous improvement, all while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communications Management: Effectively listen to and engage with stakeholders, tailoring program updates and communication to suit all levels of the organization. Develop and deliver clear communications through plans, reports, newsletters, and more.
- Continuous Improvement: Design and implement systems for ongoing performance improvement. Measure progress using KPIs, dashboards, and control charts to ensure project goals are met.
- Execution and Governance: Lead and manage program activities, ensuring timelines, staffing, and resources are optimized to deliver results. Provide ongoing reporting, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Managing Organizational Change: Identify and drive change initiatives across the organization with minimal disruption. Develop rollout plans and manage impacts effectively.
- Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize objectives, create robust project plans, and ensure dependencies and schedules are aligned. Utilize Agile or Waterfall methodologies to maximize team effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring their needs are addressed throughout the program lifecycle.
- Technical Judgment: Apply your technical expertise to assess challenges and shape strategic directions. Collaborate on technical roadmaps, white papers, and engineering reviews.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience managing technical programmes with cross-functional and outsourced teams.
- Proven experience managing programmes for a portfolio of buildings across multiple geographies, adhering to strict timelines, budgets, and quality metrics.
- Expertise in procurement and vendor negotiation, particularly in managed service delivery.
- Background in smart buildings, control systems, IoT systems, IoT cyber security, or energy management.
