Our client, a specialist FIG boutique investment banking advisory firm in London, is actively hiring an experienced Director to join the team and contribute to the firm's success.


As a Director, you will play a crucial role in originating and executing private M&A transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients. Your responsibilities will include leading transaction processes, developing client relationships, and providing strategic advice as part of the broader advisory team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of M&A (FIG M&A, focus on Insurance Distribution) transactions, including due diligence, document preparation, negotiation, and coordination with clients and external advisors (e.g., accounting, legal).
  • Build and utilize complex financial models for valuation and analysis.
  • Manage end-to-end transaction processes, ensuring timely and successful deal execution.
  • Monitor and evaluate current events, valuations, and financial information related to the group’s clients.
  • Maintain and strengthen strategic dialogue with clients, providing ongoing advisory support.
  • Prepare presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, memorandums, and other documents for M&A and capital markets transactions.
  • Conduct large-scale and intricate valuation and analytical exercises to support transaction proposals.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to more junior bankers (VPs, Associates & Analysts), fostering their development and ensuring high-quality work.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 8+ years of UK investment banking experience, predominately sell-side private M&A, working with financial sponsors.
  • Proven track record in executing complex M&A in either the FIG or Business Services sectors.
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel modelling and valuation techniques.
  • Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial, legal, and reputational risks associated with large integrated investment banks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and ideas concisely and persuasively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the capability to engage professionally and maturely with clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently, adapt to changing priorities, and take on significant responsibility within a team environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing multiple tasks under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Exemplary ethics, integrity, and judgment, with a commitment to upholding the highest professional standards.
