Overview:
Calderdale Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Manager to lead our Leaving Care team. This vital role focuses on managing a dedicated team that supports young people transitioning from care to independence. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping services to meet the needs of young people, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive in adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Leaving Care team, providing supervision, guidance, and support to staff members.
Oversee the delivery of services that support care leavers in achieving their personal and professional goals.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance the independence of young people leaving care.
Ensure that all interventions and support plans are carried out in compliance with legal frameworks and best practice guidelines.
Foster strong relationships with external agencies, community partners, and stakeholders to enhance service delivery and opportunities for care leavers.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions, making adjustments to meet the evolving needs of care leavers.
Manage the team budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
Provide expert advice and support on care leaver issues to other teams within the council.
Maintain high standards of professional practice within the team by facilitating ongoing training and development opportunities.Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with current registration.
Significant experience in children's social care, with a strong background in managing leaving care services.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent knowledge of the legal and policy framework surrounding leaving care.
Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
Ability to work collaboratively with various agencies and stakeholders.
Commitment to improving outcomes for young people leaving care.Benefits:
