Mechanical Project Engineer – Chemical Site Location: Grimsby Employment Type: 6 month Contract
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team on a major chemical site. This role involves overseeing mechanical projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and execute mechanical engineering projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure project requirements are met.
Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and other technical documents.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and resolving any issues or deviations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, contractors, and external vendors.
Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer, preferably within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Strong knowledge of project management principles, practices, and methodologies.
Proficiency in using project management software and tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
