Post: People and Culture Partner Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire Work base: Office based with travel and some flexibility to work from home Salary: £41,200.00 per annum plus £250 per month car allowance Responsible to: People and Culture Director (or nominee) Job purpose: As a People and Culture Partner, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality, people-focused support across the organisation. Working within a designated geographical area, you will act as a trusted advisor to managers and senior leaders, supporting them with a broad range of HR matters including employee relations, colleague engagement, organisational change and workforce development. In addition to your generalist responsibilities, you will take the strategic lead in one of four key focus areas: Recruitment and Retention, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), or Wellbeing. In this capacity, you will drive initiatives, shape policies and deliver impactful solutions aligned with P3’s mission, values and commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive and high-performing workplace. Your work will directly contribute to building a resilient, skilled and engaged workforce that enables P3 to deliver outstanding services and achieve its organisational goals. Strategic Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing guidance on risk management, employment relations and workforce strategy. Collaborate across the HR team and organisation to address employment relations concerns and organisational challenges proactively. Lead on the development and implementation of innovative, inclusive recruitment strategies that support P3’s current and future workforce needs. Operational HR support Provide clear, actionable advice to managers on HR policies, procedures and best practices. Lead and manage complex HR procedures, including redundancies, restructures, TUPE transfers, disciplinary actions, grievances and appeal hearings. Oversee key HR processes, ensuring the accurate and timely management of employment contracts, changes to terms and conditions, probation reviews and leaver documentation. Support managers in handling employee relations matters such as performance management, absence management and grievance resolution. Employee lifecycle management Advise on and manage cases of leave, including maternity, paternity, adoption, bereavement and other statutory entitlements. Ensure policies and procedures are up-to-date, compliant with legislation and effectively implemented. Provide meaningful staffing and development data, analysing trends (e.g., retention, attrition) and recommending actionable solutions. Performance and talent development Ensure regular appraisals and developmental reviews are conducted organisation-wide, promoting a culture of growth and continuous learning. Address performance concerns and grievances in a professional, legally compliant manner. Payroll, reward and workforce planning Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing and ensure salary reviews and promotions are implemented appropriately. Advise on skills gaps and implement talent management or resourcing strategies to address workforce needs. Leadership and supervision Provide supervision and support to designated HR team members, ensuring clear objectives and professional growth. Champion a specific area of P3’s People Strategy, driving results in alignment with organisational goals. Promoting equality Actively promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring colleagues and people we work alongside are respected and valued. Uphold P3’s equality and diversity policies, fostering a culture of fairness and opportunity for all. Development and engagement Ensure effective onboarding of colleagues through robust induction programmes and training initiatives, while also completing your own induction and engaging in necessary training to remain up to date and effective in your role. Encourage team development through participation in meetings, training sessions and feedback processes. Partner with managers to identify and address training needs, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives. HR management and metrics Monitor and manage HR KPIs, driving improvements based on insights. Maintain and oversee the HR Information System, ensuring data accuracy and compliance. Effectively implement change programmes and organisational initiatives as required. General responsibilities Support the continuous improvement and application of P3’s policies and procedures. Undertake additional duties as required to fulfil organisational commitments, including travel to other locations. Deliver all responsibilities in line with P3’s values and mission. This role is office based with travel to our P3 services. Occasional home working may be available with prior agreement from the line manager.
