Salary is £27.5K per annum - limited overtime paid additional
Working hours Week 1 - Monday to Friday 8am-5:30pm and Week 2 - 6:30am-2pm Sunday to Thursday

THE BUSINESS
 
Westray Recruitment Group are seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our client based in Durham. The company in question is a Food Manufacturer within the Durham area and they are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join their team. In the role the successful candidate will form a team of 3 consisting of an Electrical Maintenance Technician and an established Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
 
THE ROLE
Carry out preventative maintenance tasks including oiling, greasing, and cleaning machinery
Follow maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is operational
Assist the Engineers with breakdowns, as required
Highlight any risks / potential issues to the Engineers or Engineering Manager
General building maintenance including painting and general repairs
Work collaboratively with production team to minimise disruption
Ensure safe-working practices, in line with Health & Safety guidelines, are followed consistently  
 
THE PERSON
Previous maintenance experience is desirable
Adaptable with a flexible approach when priorities change
Demonstrate initiative when working unsupervised
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility to work hours, offering out of hours support as required to minimise down time
IT literate, with experience of maintenance systems
