Exciting Opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant in Southwark
GSL Education is thrilled to announce an opening for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant in Southwark. This long-term contract role, starting in September 2024, is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and making a lasting impact in their lives.
About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and ensuring that students receive the individualised attention they need to thrive. This role involves working closely with students who have a variety of special educational needs, including challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher, parents, and other professionals.
Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support.
Manage and support students with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
Experience working with children or young people in a SEN school setting is highly desirable.
Ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviour.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a dedication to supporting student development.
A current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
