About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support to a child within Early Years, helping them to reach their full potential.

This is a full-time, long-term position starting in October, offering the chance to make a significant impact in the lives of children with special educational needs.


SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support to a child with mild additional needs
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to ensure cohesive support strategies
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for all students
  • Monitor and record the progress of students, providing regular feedback to staff and parents
  • Utilize specialized strategies and interventions to support students' learning and development

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with children with mild needs in either a mainstream/special school setting
  • Strong knowledge of SEN best practices and interventions
  • Happy to provide personal care as well as encouraging developments in this area
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or a related field are highly desirable
