We are a vibrant and inclusive primary school nestled in the heart of Islington, dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. With a student body 300 students, we pride ourselves on maintaining small class sizes, with an average of 20 students per class.
Our school offers a diverse range of enriching after-school activities, including gardening, cooking and baking, sports clubs, and art and craft sessions, providing students with opportunities to explore their interests and talents beyond the classroom. Our newly refurbished, colourful classrooms provide a stimulating learning environment, complemented by spacious outdoor areas where students can engage in outdoor learning and play.
About the role: As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (TA) with a focus on catch-up interventions, you will play a crucial role in providing targeted support to pupils who require additional assistance in their learning journey. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored interventions designed to address specific educational needs and bridge any learning gaps that may have emerged. This role requires patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young learners.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, particularly within Key Stage 1.
• A thorough understanding of primary education, including phonics, numeracy, and literacy.
• Knowledge of effective intervention strategies and experience implementing them to support pupil progress.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to deliver catch-up intervention sessions.
• Support the planning and delivery of differentiated activities to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies.
