**Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant - Islington - Primary School - ASAP Start**

A vibrant and happy community Primary School in Islington are looking to appoint a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role due to start ASAP. Working hours are 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

**About the role**:
You will be joining a friendly and professional KS2 and Inclusion department who are wholly committed to securing the best academic and personal development outcomes for all of students. The successful Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant will be required to provide 1:1 support to a pupil who needs social, emotional and academic support. You will work alongside teachers in the management of the students’ social interaction, behaviour and achievement, while ensuring the pupils safety at all times.

Duties will include:

- Establishing a good relations with the Y6 student, acting as a role model, and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
- Helping the pupil to organise themselves and encourage students to act independently as appropriate.
- Keeping students on task and prompting appropriate behaviour
- Be an active member of staff in the setting and reviewing of student targets and report to the teachers on progress and achievement as agreed
- Accompanying staff on school visits/ trips
- Supporting the work directed by class teachers, monitoring student behaviour and reporting difficulties to manager as appropriate.
