Job Role
To ensure that the impact of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and nuisance on residents and others within the London Borough of Haringey is controlled using appropriate enforcement powers, negotiation, practical knowledge both during office hours and as part of an out of hours operation.
Main Responsibilities
To identify, investigate and effectively deal with breaches of legislation through appropriate written or verbal advice warnings, notices, and legal action in accordance with legislation and the Council's policies and procedures.
Work outside of normal office hours, from time to time, to investigate ASB breaches and facilitate joint working with the Police and other agencies.
To lead on serious ASB investigation in line with the Homes for Haringey (HFH) SLA, coordinating a multi agency response from a variety of internal and external partners and where appropriate devising a plan of action.
To build relationships and regularly work in partnership with local enforcement partners, statutory organisations and internal colleagues to share information and carry out joint enforcement tasking exercises.
To ensure that safeguarding issues are addressed as part of a multi-agency approach, working together to remove residents from immediate risk.
To assist in the preparation of the service and enforcement of legal notices under the Anti Social Behaviour Crime and Police Act 2014 and Housing Act 2004 and any other legislation that is appropriate to secure the main purpose of the role.
To follow up and revisit where informal and formal action has been taken, checking progress and next steps and to follow through on any legal notice served.
To prepare case bundles for court in accordance with the High Court Rules of Evidence and to represent the Council in Court as necessary
