Our client, a leading manufacturer in the rubber moulding industry, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team, the ideal candidate should have an electrical bias. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment across multiple sites locally. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for performing the following duties:
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machines following company procedures, ensuring all equipment is operational and downtime is minimised.

Identify and diagnose issues by observing machinery, listening for malfunctions, and using precision measuring instruments.

Ensure the fabric of the building and all services (Water, Electric, Air) are maintained and compliant with company standards.

React promptly to production breakdowns, keeping all relevant personnel informed of the machine status.

Assist other departments as needed to meet production targets and utilize mechanical and electrical knowledge to design and fabricate jigs and fixtures to aid production.

Additionally, you will fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and ensure the availability of frequently used parts.

Use maintenance resources efficiently, conserve equipment and supplies, and raise purchase requisitions as necessary.

Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to maintain continuity among work teams.

Comply with procedures to maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Qualifications include City and Guilds 2330, NVQ Electrical Installation, 17th Edition BS7671:2008.
Skills and abilities:
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to coordinate solutions within teams are necessary.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and applications is beneficial.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral in English, are required.

Familiarity with ProtoTRAK CNC mill controls or similar and GE Fanuc series Oi CNC Lathe controls or similar is essential.

Knowledge of PLC programming is an advantage.

Physical demands include the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, sit, and perform fine finger dexterity tasks.
