This role if Remote/Hybrid - in the Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester Triangel - reporting to the London Office
Purpose of the Role
Our company is looking for a Health and Safety Consultant to join our team. This person will be qualified to a high standard, and be looking to apply this in a range of working sectors and environments.
The ideal candidate would also be trained to complete Water Hygiene/Legionella Risk Assessments and work across both the Health and Safety and Water Safety teams at Metro Safety.
We are looking for someone with an open mindset, with a high level of knowledge, can take a holistic approach and who is looking to grow professionally.
Specific Responsibilities & Accountabilities
* Provides high quality health, safety and environment services
* Carrying out health and safety assessments and audits
* Attend continual professional development meetings and training
* Advise and instruct clients in the use of Health and Safety Management systems and other relevant technical documents and online services
* Supporting the client through effective crisis management where required
* Attend company meetings, courses etc when required to update and maintain professional skills/knowledge
* Submit any relevant reports or other such associated documents in accordance with client demand and departmental protocols
* Writing bespoke risk assessments where required
* Assist with audit and consultancy scoping, quality assurance and standardisation processes
* Carrying out site inspections
* Delivering audits, consultancy and training services to various client groups across the UK
Attributes/Requirements:
* In general, the successful post holder will be an all-rounder, flexible, committed, have good work ethic and have the ability to work smart and must be prepared to travel extensively. They will also be willing to take on further training in other Health & Safety disciplines in order to widen the scope of surveys they can undertake.
* Ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent or NEBOSH General Certificate – with experience within retail, care, offices
* CMIOSH or working towards this
* Experience with facilities management and have extensive knowledge on the statutory requirements of building management
* Clean UK Driving Licence
* Previous experience of working with Water Hygiene/Legionella Risk Assessments
* It would also be desirable if you have extensive work with Fire Safety, Fire Risk Assessments
PLEASE NOTE: Travel around the UK will be required as well as some overnight stays
* Will have good client-facing, people management, organisational and presentational skills.

Essential
A level or Equivalent
NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent
Experience with Facilities Management
Extensive knowledge of the statutory requirements of Building Management
Initiative and high level output capability
Attention to detail
Computer literacy
Numeracy
Proactive and responsible approach to problem solving
Clear communication
Experience of MS Word and intermediate level Excel
Desirable
CMIOSH
Experience with retail, care and commercial settings
Previous experience of working with water hygiene/legionella risk assessments
Experience working with fire safety and fire risk assessments
Experience of Salesforce System
