The Role
- Subject Matter Expert for their Satellite offering
- Analysing the customer’s business and technical requirements and designing technical solutions.
- Creating the design, sizing and costing of new networks.
- Representing the Company, as a technical lead, at customer meetings prior to sale.
- Providing technical input for bids and tenders and drafting any bid-specific parts of resulting contract.
- Product definition, including identifying and testing new features, platforms and products, including new hardware and software; and maintaining a relationship with product management group at our parent company.
- Defining the design of the customer pilot and technical management at implementation stage.
- Supporting the sizing review of customer networks, post-sale, and providing technical support for any ‘upsell’ opportunities.
- Defining requirements for, and negotiation with, telecom suppliers.
- Assessment of initial requirements, including bid / no bid reviews.
- Up to £60-£80k base + 20% OTE + £6.6k car allowance
The Candidate
- Proven and significant experience in both core network and access network design, connectivity technologies, with strength in satellite and also terrestrial, and wireless (4G, 5G) implementation, and knowledge of SDWAN, Cloud services and application requirements over networks.
- 5+ years in wide-area network presales engineering or system engineering of satellite comms networks, and wireless networks.
- Experience in writing proposals and responding to tenders.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in presales or technical sales.
- Excellent written, presentation and communication skills.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, interfacing at all levels of customer organization, and are adept at dealing with multiple stakeholders.
- Problem-solving, prioritisation and analytical ability.
