Vet/Technical Advisor

Our client is looking for its new Veterinary/Technical Advisor – Companion Animal - North to provide expert technical advice, guidance and educational support to our external customer base whilst also ensuring all staff are equipped with the appropriate level of technical knowledge, and support, to execute their roles effectively.
In this new and exciting position, your primary objective is to enhance our client's UK’s technical capabilities by providing exemplary technical support on topics surrounding our client's product portfolio. Technical advisors are also required to manage key stakeholder relationships with nominated academic institutions, key referral sites and key opinion leaders incorporating all elements of the relationship from student education to supporting detailed clinical initiatives.
Whilst gaining a thorough understanding, and playing a pivotal role in the customer journey, time spent in the role also offers the unique opportunity to work cross-functionally with members of the key account and sales & marketing teams providing exposure to varied business functions and excellent in-role development opportunities.
This position reports to the Marketing and Technical Manager – Vet Channel.
Location: This is a permanent full-time role and will be home-field based with a requirement for regular travel within the allocated territory (North of England and Scotland) and nationally. International travel may also be required on
occasion.
Your accountabilities:
• To actively ‘champion’ the products/brands within the prescription (POM-V) portfolio and provide expert veterinary/technical advice, guidance, and educational support to the company's external customer base.
• Coach and support internal team members on technical queries/issues.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with all local teams, to ensure the successful implementation of marketing and sales functions.
• Act as the first point of technical contact in the field, implementing effective market support and providing integral clinical follow-up & support on appropriate product usage.
• Collect the required information and respond to pharmacovigilance related matters when required.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders (e.g. key opinion leaders).
• Competently represent the company during your day-to-day duties and at external meetings/conferences.
• Maintain high educational and ethical standards.
Your profile:
Experience & skills required:
• Veterinary surgeon registered with the RCVS.
• Minimum of 3-years spent in relevant clinical practice (ideally companion animal internal medicine).
• Ideally 2-3 years of experience spent in industry in similar/associated role.
Required Skillset:
• A sincere and friendly communicator with excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to demonstrate passion for best clinical practice.
• Ability to educate through understanding and coaching.
• Confident with technology and systems including Microsoft Office and CRM software.
• Ability to interpret and use sales data to effectively manage/assist achievement of territory objectives.
• Highly self-motivated and goal oriented, with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise and accomplish tasks.
• Ability to complete administrative tasks in a timely manner.
Package offering:
Base salary range: up to £53K GBP dependent on experience
Bonus: 0-40% depending on individual and company’s performance – median is 12.5%
