The opportunity:
Valcon UK is seeking a PMO Manager to join our growing Project Delivery capability group within our Consulting Practice.
Overview of Consulting Practice:
Valcon provides consulting support to help clients protect and increase their margins, optimise their operational performance and improve productivity. We work closely with clients to map their vision, define the programme to achieve it and deliver the programme successfully, using a blend of Valcon’s consulting, data and technology expertise.
From large-scale transformations to specific issues, Valcon can step in at any stage of the development journey. We adapt and flex our consulting, technology and data teams to provide direction, design and delivery to get the right results.
Our Consulting Practice has 5 capabilities:

We are looking for Consultants with the following skill sets:
- Previous experience implementing and managing PMO’s on large scale Change/Transformation Programmes
- Run the Business/Operational Finance Systems
- Previous experience working within an Agile environment
- Ideally degree level, within a technology or business discipline
- A commitment to continue to develop both personally and professionally
- Relevant professional qualifications based on domain area expertise – Prince2, PMP, Agile etc.
And a demonstrated track record of:
- Designing, implementing, rescuing or operating world class PMOs in large scale programme and portfolio environments
- Experience of running, planning and overseeing all aspects of a project, and meet the project’s goals on time and within budget
- Assisting in the development and provide ongoing maintenance of the high level and detailed project plans.
- Organising people, tasks and resources to bring about successful conclusions.
- Adherence to project change control processes and templates
- Driving implementation of best practice in risk policies and governance frameworks
- Experience of having effectively managed dependencies in major projects and programmes
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with senior management and key personnel
Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to business development, solution development, and the creation of proposals and associated marketing to support client and prospective client requirements
- Active involvement in the renewal of their engagement on assignments
- Contributing to the creation of collateral, the development of services, and associated marketing to enhance the capabilities of the Consulting Practice.
- Proactively embrace assessment and development processes to ensure the maintenance and enhancement of skills, knowledge, experience, professional insights, and competencies that underpin consulting value.
- Taking an active role in networking, events, and the personal and professional development opportunities.
