An Ofsted-rated 'Good' primary school in Stanmore is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work across KS1 and KS2 classes. This vibrant and impressive school encourages pupils to pursue a wide variety of additional activities outside of lessons, including sporting clubs, languages, dance, and performing arts. The school prides itself on the values upheld by both staff and pupils, creating a positive and friendly environment.
This mixed, community school has around 800 pupils from nursery to Year 6. They are looking to organise trial days with teaching assistants who have experience working with children with special educational needs. Recent graduates with a degree in Psychology are also desirable for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1-1 support to children with special educational needs, including those with ASD, ADHD, and non-verbal children.
Implement and adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of each child.
Utilize attention autism/bucket time interventions effectively.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Work closely with the SEN team and classroom teachers to monitor and report on the child's progress.
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.Requirements:
Prior experience working with children with special educational needs is mandatory.
Strong understanding of attention autism/bucket time interventions.
Resilient, energetic, and a 'can-do' attitude.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to commit to the role until the end of the academic year (July 2025) to ensure consistency for the children.Benefits:
