About the rolenAn exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, disruptive investment firm, founded by individuals with senior experience at top investment firms (inc. Sequoia Capital, Goldman Sachs, TowerBrook and HIG Capital) and who have founded billion-dollar businesses.nThe role of Operations Associate offers the opportunity to provide support across the entire Spheres investor and investment lifecycle, including fundraising assistance, investment execution, portfolio monitoring and reporting, and new product launches.
ResponsibilitiesnChampion processes and devise, test and implement improvements to streamline and automate traditional investment, fund and wealth management workflows, increasing scalability and reducing risk.nDynamically track the progress of each investment, working in-step with our investment team to ensure smooth and timely execution.nAssist in platform management, helping ensure data hygiene and platform best practices are maintained.nOversee and manage third-party fund administrators and AIFMs, ensuring operational excellence across the fund lifecycle, including cash cycle management (i.e. capital calls, distributions, equalisations, etc), and review of performance reporting and portfolio management systems.nHelp bring to market tech-enabled private-market and wealth mgmt. services, including automated capital call satisfaction, subscriptions for private market investments, and cash management solutions: collaborating with partners, developing operational frameworks and overseeing implementation to ensure flawless product execution.nSupport the expansion and mapping of Spheres’s network by leveraging various data sources including PitchBook, LinkedIn, internal data, and others to conduct market mapping and primary research.nOversee the execution of a broad range of business-oriented operational, financial and compliance tasks (e.g. AML/KYC process, invoicing, vendor management, payroll etc).
Qualifications & SkillsnUniversity degree in a relevant field.n2-3+ years’ experience in a fintech, asset manager (private equity/venture capital fund, wealth manager, or hedge fund) or other financial institution, ideally in an operational, accounting, consulting or advisory role.nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.nTech savvy (inc. proficient in excel. Experience working with automation software, such as make.com, viewed positively) and curious, including a deep conviction to automate everything and anything. Experience with portfolio management software (e.g. Addepar, Landytech, Masstro, etc) and CRMs (e.g. DealCloud, Affinity, etc) is a plus.nInnovative and obsessive, including a tendency to look at things and see how they can be done better.nCollaborative: you seek to build networks and partnerships.nExcellent communication skills: you are concise and precise.nInquisitive, entrepreneurial: you are willing to approach and immerse yourself in a wide range of new problems.nFluent in English. Proficiency in German, French or other European languages viewed positively.
