THE COMPANY

As part of a planned succession, the company wish to strengthen their Board team with a first-class finance leader, who will be instrumental in taking the finance function to the next level, whilst contributing to the wider commercial development of the business.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Managing Director, and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, your remit will include:-
* Leadership and development of the finance team, delivering outstanding financial control, reporting, planning and governance
* Deliver insightful financial information and analysis to the MD, Board and management colleagues, enabling the business to achieve its strategic and operational objectives
* Oversee and deliver an outstanding level of statutory, treasury and regulatory financial reporting
* Work collaboratively with the MD and the Board, contributing to the development of company strategy
* Review current practices, ensuring the company’s financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
* Lead annual business planning and budgeting cycle with strong commercial vision
* Own the relationship with external auditors and advisors, developing a positive partnership approach
* Liaise with the wider Group, building strong relationships with other colleagues across the business
THE PERSON
* A first class, high integrity finance professional – a qualified and experienced Finance Director (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
* Significant expertise in leading and developing a finance function, ideally in an engineering or associated setting
* Candidates with a background in construction, civils, rail, energy, marine, renewables or sectors where government and/or commercial contracting is a feature would be of particular interest
* Commercially astute, with exemplary technical capability, able to build effective relationships with colleagues across the company
* Engaging and pro-active in style, with the credibility and presence to influence around the business, along with the drive, enthusiasm and ambition to play a key part in the future growth and profitability of this progressive Group
