Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
The Fundraising Manager is responsible for delivering our fundraising strategy and increasing our income from various income streams.
This is an exciting opportunity to be the driving force behind our community fundraising and to build on our fantastic service to ensure we create a sustainable and effective organisation for years to come.
Reporting to the CEO, the role would suit somebody with excellent communications skills. Experience in fundraising, sales and marketing or a similar field is beneficial but not a necessity. The key skill is explaining the importance of our work to funders and donors in an effective way.
The Fundraising Manager will work with colleagues across the service to develop and deliver our fundraising strategy. There may be line management of communications team staff and volunteers as part of the role. It is essential for the role holder to develop and build relationships with key partners externally and to work closely with the management team and our Development Committee.
The role will focus on achieving our fundraising targets, expanding current income streams, and developing engagement and opportunities to support growth. That will include bid-writing, grant applications, community fundraising, and events.

Key areas of responsibility
Fundraising Strategy
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement an effective and growing fundraising strategy
- Increase net income from multiple income streams including trusts and foundations, community contacts and individual donors
Fundraising Activity
- Identify new income streams and develop fundraising into new areas of engagement
- Develop and build relationships with key partners, supporters, donors and potential funders to maximise opportunities for income generation
- Seek new opportunities to fundraise and engage with supporters through digital solutions
- Promote our services and increase our visibility in the community through community fundraising and focused events
Bid Writing and Proposal Development
- Develop compelling proposals and bids to secure income on behalf of Norfolk Citizens Advice
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to support organisational growth
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the success and impact of submitted bids
- Maintain strong relationships with funders and partners, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the bidding process
Essential criteria
Skills
- Excellent communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, ideally with training or qualifications in related areas
- Proficient IT skills
- Demonstrated success in building effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Proven experience in managing a complex workload to meet deadlines effectively

- Ability to use own initiative and resolve problems
- Ability to identify and develop new opportunities
Experience
- Experience in working effectively with external organisations
Desirable criteria
Experience and knowledge
- A general understanding of the principles which govern UK charities
- Experience in fundraising, sales and marketing or equivalent field
- Experience in adhering to and working within established brand guidelines
- Experience in organising and running events
Additional Requirements
- The post holder will be expected to be available to attend and oversee events which may fall outside of normal working hours
- Willingness to be flexible by undertaking additional duties and working to tight deadlines when needed
- Willingness and ability to travel to other offices in Norfolk as needed
- Willingness to undertake further training
