Starting salary between £22368 and £25989 (pro rata) per annum

Part Time – 30 hours per week.

Based at King’s Court Council Office

If you have a working knowledge of welfare benefits and excellent communication skills to be able to deal calmly with difficult situations and customers, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our benefits team.

We need you assist customers claiming welfare benefits, maximising benefit take up. You will visit people in their homes, giving advice on entitlement, and helping them complete application forms. You will also identify changes of circumstance and assist with claims for discretionary housing payments.

You will have 5 GCSEs grade 4-9 / C or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English. With experience of working in a welfare benefit environment, you will have excellent working knowledge of housing benefit and council tax support regulations, and an understanding of criteria for claiming all other welfare benefits. You will also need to hold a driving licence and have your own transport.
