Are you ready to deliver integrated marketing campaigns for Londoners?
The Marketing & Campaigns team leads marketing campaigns and communications that help make London greener, safer, fairer and more prosperous. We communicate some of the most pressing issues facing our city, from access to affordable homes, ending rough sleeping, tackling violence against women and girls and dealing with the cost of living. This includes promoting our programme of major public and cultural events to celebrate London’s diverse communities - no two days are the same but every day is meaningful.
We’re looking for two marketing executives to help us ensure that Londoners are aware of, and engaged in, the important work delivered by the Mayor of London and London Assembly. Marketing executives play an important role in delivering marketing campaigns, integrated communications projects and London’s events programme by:
1 . Planning, leading and delivering consumer focused marketing and communications campaigns that engage Londoners. This includes the delivery and evaluation of campaigns through robust project management and marketing expertise.
2. Supporting Senior Campaign Leads in the delivery of large multi-channel campaigns promoting the work of the organisation. This includes co-ordination and support for marketing and communications across the full channel mix, including online and traditional offline channels, across short and long term projects.
3. Managing a variety of different stakeholders including policy teams, the Mayor’s Office and external agencies. You will provide stakeholders with effective marketing and communications expertise and excellent project management. External stakeholders include management of suppliers, agencies and members of the wider GLA family.
Principal accountabilities
1. To lead small to medium-sized campaigns and marketing projects across the full channel mix, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to plan, manage and deliver effective and engaging campaigns. This includes the development of campaign strategy, delivery of key campaign documentation, effective management of campaign delivery across various teams, and ongoing reporting and optimisation using marketing tools.
2. Provide robust project management to ensure effective campaign planning and delivery, ensuring that projects are managed to time and budget, and internal and external stakeholder are managed.
3. To provide project support to the Senior Campaign Leads on larger campaigns, and to support the in the delivery of all aspects of the GLA’s integrated marketing and communication plans and strategies.
4. Provide specialist marketing advice and guidance to GLA officers – including policy, research and events teams - on all aspects of marketing communications to support the delivery of GLA-led projects, making strategic recommendations based on expertise and campaign learnings and evaluations.
5. Provide marketing support to GLA campaigns by arranging cross-discipline meetings, leading on communication of campaign actions and day-to-day administrative and budget management support.
6. Manage relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders including policy, and events teams, the Mayor’s Office and external agencies, suppliers and partners.
7. Work with the Senior Campaign Lead to implement multi-channel campaigns with a focus on press/outdoor advertising, distribution, digital advertising, social media, email, and content creation. Working with the GLA’s web team and contracted media agency to implement best practice on tracking, reporting and optimisation.
8. Oversee content production for a variety of channels, including writing engaging copy and commissioning video content, photography and design to ensure campaigns have a strong pipeline of content throughout their lifecycle.
9. Adhere to and champion the GLA corporate identity, house style and digital guidelines at all times, working with the creative team to ensure that all content and materials generated by External Relations is audience focused.
10. Realise the benefits of London’s diversity by promoting and enabling equality of opportunities and promoting the diverse needs and aspirations of London’s communities.

12. Work directly with the Events team to manage the marketing communications attached to London’s major events, including the Mayor of London’s Trafalgar Square events programme, considering events logistics and community engagement throughout.

Technical requirements/experience/qualifications
1. Experience in a similar role – working for a high-profile organisation with a broad range of stakeholders.
2. Experience of marketing and communication across earned, owned and paid media on a variety of channels and formats, including events, press, influencers, outdoor, social media and digital.
3. An excellent standard of written English and the ability to write professional copy tailored to a variety of target audiences.
4. Experience of using IT programmes relevant to the role i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and project management systems.

This role is based between City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE and London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL )
GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
