The role… The Senior Analyst will undertake strategic research covering how AI is applied in practice in enterprises; analysis of major and emerging AI market trends; and technical reviews of vendor offerings and AI concepts. Success in the role requires a strong interest and knowledge of the world of AI in a business context, its use cases, key developments and releases (e.g. MCP, A2A protocol, GPT-5), and the major AI and agent platforms operating in this space. The candidate’s knowledge should extend to a technical understand of how AI and LLMs work, best practices for their implementation and the wider technology ecosystem needed for their operation. The successful candidate will have the ambition to undertake a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research, write high quality written reports, keep up to date with the latest AI news and present research findings to client executives. Our analysts benefit from our structured ‘Analyst Training Framework’ which offers tailored learning which will equip high performers to progress their careers further at Verdantix. Salary opportunity is £55K - £60K , depending on experience level, plus a very competitive quarterly bonus scheme. This is a hybrid role which requires 3 days a week in the office during probationary period, and will decrease to 2 days upon successful completion. Note: This role does not require coding or creation of AI-first products as a significant scope of work. Technical knowledge will support the assessment and differentiation of vendor AI products, AI product enhancement conversations with technical product personas and discussion on the impact of AI developments. What you’ll be doing… Conducting market research based on the established portfolio of Verdantix methodologies. Undertaking research interviews and conversations with individuals in leading roles in the AI industry. Efficiently writing high-quality research documents in English. Producing reports on technology vendors and market news based on briefings. Working on consulting projects relating to AI, industrial technologies and enterprise technology strategies. Develop strong client relationships with individuals in leading roles in the AI industry. Attending industry events and speaking engagements to help raise the profile of Verdantix in the market. Developing trusted relationships with Verdantix clients and senior industry decision makers. Supporting marketing efforts by writing blogs and engaging in social media activities. About you… Experience working in a software firm, technology analyst firm, market research firm or consulting firm Educated to degree level with a preference for top-tier universities – desirable to have a relevant MSc, MBA or PhD Priority given to technical degrees with a strong focus on AI (e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science etc.) Experience in conducting research interviews and contributing to the development of research reports Proven ability to quickly write high quality reports for a business audience. Quantitative skills and knowledge of Excel to manipulate large data sets and apply mathematical concepts. Experience in interviewing senior individuals across product, marketing and other role types to collect business or strategic information. Demonstrable passion for AI, stays informed on market developments and emerging technologies. Proactive in identifying hot research topics, commercial opportunities and internal improvements that advance the research function. Naturally curious, with a strong appetite for understanding technical nuances — especially how AI-first products are differentiated. Communicates with clarity and precision, both in writing and verbally; can challenge assumptions constructively and back up opinions with logic. Self-directed and accountable — does not wait for permission to explore high-value questions or conduct work activities.
