Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our team for a select phase study on a gas deficiency project. This is a full-time, fixed-term position expected to commence in August, with a duration of two months. The successful candidate will provide essential Process Engineering support throughout the project, ensuring the effective and efficient progression of the select phase study.
Project Scope:
This study will involve the evaluation and maturing of the design for a Gas Import Tie-In that can be progressed into the Define (FEED) Stage engineering. The Gas Import study needs to contain sufficient detail to ensure it can be further developed as a single clear solution. In addition to the location of the new Tie-In, a technology evaluation for the equipment required is to be conducted so that the most appropriate design can be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
The Process Engineer is responsible for the following activities:
Identification of the Tie-In locations with Red line Mark Ups of Process Flow Diagram.
Red line Mark Ups of P&IDs for each option.
Equipment Screening and selection for Heat Exchanger, Heater, Gas Metering, Scrubber, and Protection systems.
Update / modify Anasuria FPSO Process Simulation (HYSYS) for each option.
Identify potential hazards and process risks, specifically with respect to the failure of safety-critical equipment.
Preliminary Flare Capacity evaluation.
Conduct a Concept Select Workshop, the outcome of which is to agree on the most suitable tie-in option and further develop the above deliverables.
SELECT Stage Deliverables:
Prepare a Basis of Design and Statement of Requirements.
Selection of Data Sheets and Project Drawings.
Complete a SELECT Report, addressing all of the Study objectives and Topics in the Report.
Provide cost estimates for the delivery of the work.
Prepare and deliver a Presentation of the SELECT Study findings at the client Offices.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry, specifically with gas deficiency projects.
Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Experience with HAZOP and risk assessment methodologies.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to process engineering and safety.
Desirable Skills:
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Experience with process optimisation and debottlenecking studies.
Previous experience in a consultancy or client-facing role.
Working Arrangements:
Ideally, the potential candidates should be available to work in the Cramlington office at least 3 days per week. If this is not feasible, a kick-off visit should be arranged, with regular Teams meetings to check the progress of the engineering.
