The Role: MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) The Client: International Bank The Location: London A fantastic opportunity to join an International Bank where you will take regulatory ownership of its financial crime framework and team in the UK. This is a key Senior Management Function (SMF17) role with strategic responsibility for ensuring that the Bank's compliance is in line with the UK Financial Crime Legislation, PRA & FCA rules. The Role: Lead and manage the Financial Crime Prevention function, ensuring the effectiveness of the bank’s AML, CTF, sanctions, and anti-bribery controls. Act as the Nominated Officer, overseeing the review, escalation, and reporting of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the NCA. Maintain and enhance policies, systems, and controls in line with the Money Laundering Regulations, JMLSG guidance, and evolving regulatory expectations. Deliver the annual MLRO report and provide regular MI to senior management, committees, and the Board. Oversee financial crime risk assessments, customer risk methodologies, and assurance reviews of first-line activities. Engage with regulators, law enforcement, and internal stakeholders, ensuring a culture of compliance and transparency. The ideal candidate will have: Minimum 10 years’ experience in AML/financial crime compliance within banking or financial services (would look at less experience if candidate has relevant experience) Industry certification (e.g., ACAMS, ICA Diploma or equivalent). Strong leadership and stakeholder management experience at a senior level. Proven experience in Trade Finance or corporate lending.
