Managing Director, West Midlands, up to £100k + Bonus + Benefits
My client is a Steel Stockholder & Processor, they are actively looking to recruit a proven and commercially driven Managing Director.
Relevant Experience:
- Experience of senior management position with profit and loss responsibility, ideally operating as a Managing Director or General Manager.
- Working in a metal processing or manufacturing industry.
- Experience of development and implementation of business strategies.
- Proven track record of delivering growth.
- Setting and controlling budgets.
- Experience of managing a sales team – setting targets and driving performance.
- Managing customer and supplier relationships.
- Experience of negotiating with customers and suppliers, ideally with large corporate organisations.
- An understanding of managing Health & Safety regulations
- An understanding of manufacturing operations.
Qualifications/ Training:
- Formal management training qualifications.
Special Knowledge:
- Steel Industry is desirable, not essential.
Disposition/ Attitude:
- Shows clear integrity.
- Understanding of how to develop and maintain high quality service.
- High emotional intelligence being able to listen to divergent ideas.
- ‘Hands on’ approach and prepared to cover any role or function as necessary.

Practical/ Intellectual:
- A strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret numbers and take appropriate actions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of managing Health & Safety
- Experience of managing operational processes.
- Understanding of stockholding and distribution.
- Supporting Qualifications.
- Marketing experience.
You must be UK based and live within a commutable distance of the where the position is located.
