Engineering Programme Manager
Location: Welwyn Garden City

Job Summary: As a Programme Manager you will be required to manage the project/programme through its automation installation and design phases all the way through to completion - Phase 1 is a 4 year programme.
Some of the day to day duties as a Project/Programme Manager will be to:
Lead and manage the development and execution of automation installation and design programmes
Work closely with stakeholders (engineering, operations, IT, People, Legal) to understand automation requirements and develop cost-effective solutions.
Design and develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Manage and mentor a team of responsible for installation and commissioning.
Oversee the procurement of all necessary equipment and materials for automation projects.Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards during installation.
Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Conduct project reviews and report on progress to senior management including the Exec.
Stay up-to-date on the latest automation technologies and trends.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Capital budget of up to £300m
Manage KPI and input into business cases
Manage and oversee project Installation and go live support of projects
Root cause analysis
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, breakdown and improve company processes.
Reporting and stakeholder management within Distribution, Property and Technology

Being flexible in your approach, prioritising and managing various projects of work across different areas within Business Support, improving different parts of the shopping trip for customers or simplifying our operations with new initiatives.
Responsible for designing, setting up end to end organisation of projects, consistently reviewing progress and ensuring they remain on track and in scope. Communicated and delivered through clear implementation.
Ensuring all budgets and forecasts are accurate and issues highlighted in a timely manner.
Overseeing change management processes to ensure longevity and sustainability of the project being delivered.
Managing risk and issues, setting up and leading a clear governance programme.
Ownership of processes and systems, making sure they are effective and efficient; you spot issues and swiftly find the best simplest solutions.
Prioritisation from dependant teams and being agile to manage the implementation of various projects and programmes of work that simplify our operation.
Responsible for project closedown and post implementation review, taking note of key learnings and sharing these with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
Responsible for clear handover from transformation to BAU once projects are complete.
Work with vendor in a partnership approach
Requirements:
Apprenticeship / Electrical or Mechanical NVQ Lv3 or similar qualifications
Engineering Project Management experience
Proven experience in designing and implementing automation solutions.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP).
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage Working knowledge of automation software and hardware (desirable).
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Managing and influencing stakeholders.What we offer:
