Position: HR Assistant
Salary: £26,000
Location: Duns, Scottish Borders
Pertemps are recruiting a HR Assistant to join their client in Duns. The primary purpose of the role is to support a wide range of HR related activity to support the employee experience whilst ensuring compliance to employment legislation.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for HR queries via face-to-face interactions, email, and telephone.
Provide timely and accurate advice to assist managers with employee opportunities and concerns.
Oversee employee relations casework, including investigations and flexible working requests.
Manage sickness absences and handle all associated administrative tasks.
Assist with the onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and departing employees.
Analyze HR processes to identify and implement improvements.
Support internal and external audit activities.
Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly HR reports.
Assist the HR Advisor/HR Business Partner with various ad hoc projects.
Maintain data in SAP, draft letters, file documents, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
Note: This list is not exhaustive and responsibilities may evolve in line with the role.
About You:
Essential: Previous HR experience with a solid understanding of employment legislation.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficient in IT, including SAP and Microsoft Office, with a good grasp of HR systems.
Strong attention to detail.
Highly organized with the ability to multitask effectively.
Commercially and customer-aware, with a strong focus on quality.
Capable of handling confidential and sensitive information with respect.
HR qualification is desirable but not required.
In-depth knowledge of employment law.
Positive and proactive "can-do" attitude.
Ability to stay calm under pressure.
Skilled in managing change.
