This role involves directing and managing complex structural engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, project management, and refurbishment of existing structures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Leadership:
Oversee and direct all phases of large refurbishment projects, from initial concept through to completion.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Conduct thorough Structural surveys and compile reports to ascertain potential project options.
* Technical Oversight:
Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex structural engineering issues.
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of engineering drawings, calculations, and reports.
* Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of structural engineers and project managers.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Conduct regular team meetings and provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations.
* Client Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Address client concerns and ensure their satisfaction with project outcomes.
* Risk Management:
Identify and manage project risks and issues.
Implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed on all projects.
* Business Development:
Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids for new refurbishment projects.
Identify opportunities for project expansions and new business.
Collaborate with the business development team to grow the company’s refurbishment portfolio.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on refurbishment projects.
* Proven experience in managing large and complex projects.
* Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
* Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, etc.).
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
