Our client is a leading culture led comms agency based in the heart of London.
They are seeking a highly motivated and commercially-minded individual to lead their social media department and drive its growth - Head of Social.
We are looking for candidates with agency experience and have a good understanding of how earned is tied into overall social strategy.
You will have strong experience implementing successful social media strategies for major brands, as well as a deep understanding of the social media landscape and a creative approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in nurturing and overseeing high-performing teams, delivering best-in-class client service and working collaboratively with other departments on 360 campaigns. The successful candidate will be results-oriented and have strong commercial acumen, with a focus on generating revenue and growing the value of client accounts.
The Head of Social will be a key player in the senior leadership team, supporting the agency’s wider business objectives as well as ensuring the team are delivering work to a high standard.
Salary: 70-90k plus bonus
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Department Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the social team, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities
- Work closely with the Social Account Director on the development of the team
- Line manage the Social Account Director
- Share knowledge and train other members of the team and wider agency at a high standard
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
Client Services & Growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and partner
- Understand clients’ business needs, ensuring our services are continuously supporting them and identifying upsell opportunities
- Work closely with the Head of Strategy on social brief responses and ensure the successful implementation of social strategies
- Stay up-to-date on the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, and incorporate them into our work.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate social media into overall marketing campaigns and initiatives
- Drive innovation and thought leadership in social media, exploring new opportunities and approaches to deliver exceptional results for our clients
- Lead on resolving client challenges, contract renewals, strategic delivery or growth through the coaching of others
New business and commercials:
- Work with the Partners to develop the direction and growth of the social team in line with the company vision
- Identify resource needs and lead on hiring for the department
- Confident is selling the department and agency services to prospective clients
- Have a strong network and be confident in driving a pipeline of new business into the agency
- Respond to new business briefs, effectively mobilising the team to deliver creative and innovative proposals
- Develop and present pitches for new and speculative clients
- Host effective new business brainstorms
- Work with the Social Account Director to spot commercial opportunities and grow the value of accounts
- Develop social retainers and project costs based on client needs
- Create, manage and oversee commercials
- Cultivate own pipeline for new business
- Ensure integration with Media and Influencers working closely with the Director on clients and new business.
