Assembly Lead

Role:
The purpose of the role is to provide day to day guidance and direction to the assembly team, ensuring that production requirements are met on time and in full. Assisting wherever necessary within the assembly departments and driving continuous improvements in terms of safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity and people, whilst being fully compliant to all corporate and legislative standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide daily direction for the Assembly Team Leader, Assembly Deputy Team Leader, and other assembly team members, ensuring targets are achieved in line with the company KPI’s.
* Lead, contribute to and sustain 5S activities within the shop floor area and other departments & Conduct 1 Kaizen event each month, with the aim of continuously improving the department in line with business needs.
* Coordinate department activities and projects to ensure high quality and standards, and that the deadlines are meet on time. Evaluate department processes and recommend needed changes based on process analysis.
* Establish employee goals and conduct informative performance reviews.
* Carry out, and lead, disciplinary investigations when required.
* Work with other departments to ensure the wages and staffing are correct on a weekly basis.
* Be open and pro-active to change in the best interest of the company’s overall business development.
* Work in conjunction with the other department heads to ensure health and safety compliance.
* In the absence of the Manufacturing Manager, provide day to day guidance to all the Team Leaders, and assist where necessary with the day-to-day activities of the factory.
* Contribute to the enhancement of the company’s quality standards and the general work environment.
* Ensure that the team operates at the optimum performance levels in their tasks, and that the required quality is maintained as well as ensure production outputs are achieved on time and in full & maintain a safe working environment
* Ensure all waste products are separated into their designated containers for safe disposal.
* Comply with company and statutory Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental and other policies, and procedures.
* Assist in identifying areas of improvement within your area, promoting continuous improvement activities, to help eliminate waste and improve safety, engagement & efficiency.

* Experience of health and safety within manufacturing.
* Ability to lead and drive cultural and behavioural change and improvements in a diverse working environment.
* Ability to engage staff across all levels of the business.
* Ability to work on own initiative through excellent time management skills.
* Possess internal drive to the development and delivery of the expectations of the role with an energetic and passionate approach.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability practices.
