Intelligence & Demand Management Officer

The purpose of this job is to undertake daily scanning, collation and assessment of information and intelligence on a wide range of activities to brief operational teams associated with Community safety, Enforcement and Business Regulation. Identify demand Management issues such as peaks in customer demand, repeat complaints etc. and bring to the attention of service delivery managers.
Responsibilities
Scanning, collating, and assessing crime/ASB, environmental, licensing and regulatory incidents/events/reports over the past 24 hours (72 on a Monday).
Liaising with the Police Local Intelligence Team, Council enforcement and regulatory service officers to co-ordinate police and other tasking’s for the day ahead.
Producing a summary of events, significant incidents and service requests.
Presenting the summary at a Weekly Tasking Meeting.
Recording and disseminating actions from the Weekly Tasking Meeting.
Producing a Tasking and Briefing report based upon the above and deployment decisions made at the Weekly meeting. The Tasking and Briefing report to set out the deployments for all patrol staff for the next week on each shift, together with a summary of incidents and an intelligence briefing.
Collating updates on previous day(s) activities prior to each Weekly Tasking Meeting.
Reviewing incidents of the last 7 days, summarise deployments, and outcomes in terms of patrols, further incidents and enforcement activity undertaken.
Requirements
Exceptional time and organisational management skills.
Proven experience in problem solving, creative thinking and use negotiation skills to achieve positive outcomes.
The ability to operate a range of IT software packages, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Vision and Powerpoint.
First class written and oral communication skills that meet the needs of broad or specific audiences, as the situation may require.
Interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with managers, officers within and external to the Division, Councillors, the community, our partners and stakeholders.
Proven ability to apply problem solving analysis (e.g. SARA and situational crime prevention methods), and research within a community safety / criminal justice setting.
An understanding of statistical analysis techniques and methods.
Understanding of GIS (e.g. Mapinfo, ArcGIS) as a tool for undertaking crime analysis and problem solving; e.g. crime pattern and hotspot analysis.
Possess a good understanding of crime and ASB prevention/reduction theories.
To undergo security clearance (Counter Terrorism Check) and NPPV2 vetting to facilitate access to Police and other Partner data and databases.

Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend
