About the role:
This position is a vital role within our school community, focusing on supporting students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with challenging behaviours. The role is available due to an expansion in our SEN provision, aimed at providing targeted support to ensure every child achieves their potential.
As a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers, the role requires patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students to effectively manage challenging behaviours.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviours in an educational setting is essential.
• Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implementing and supporting the delivery of individual education plans (IEPs).
• Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN.
• Assisting with classroom management and behaviour strategies.
• Liaising with teachers, parents, and external professionals as required.
