About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialization in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) to join our team. This full-time, long-term position is available starting September 2024. The role has opened up due to the expansion of our SEN provision to better support our diverse student population.

As an SEN TA specialising in SEMH, you will be integral in supporting students who face emotional and mental health challenges. The role stands out due to its focus on providing tailored support and fostering a positive learning environment. You will work closely with class teachers to implement individualized strategies and interventions to help students manage their needs and excel academically.

Application Requirements:

• Experience and Skills: Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs is essential. A background in supporting emotional and behavioral needs within a school setting is highly desirable.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and interventions.

• Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or a related field are preferred, though not mandatory if significant experience is demonstrated.

• Personal Attributes: Empathy, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Student Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
• Behavior Management: Implement and monitor behavioral interventions and strategies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff to plan and deliver effective support.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents and guardians as needed.
• Inclusivity: Foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and engagement.
