Summary

This is a key position within the Business Development team operating within the new build residential and commercial sectors. Responsible for cultivating existing client relationships and new business within agreed parameters that meets agreed financial targets. Converting clients to long- term repeat business using market leading customer service, commercial and relationship management skills.


Key Responsibilities

·       Prospecting within target clients / markets.

·       Forward forecasting of sales performance.

·       Maintain online client and pipeline databases and electronic files using DW Utilities internal software.

·       Presenting value based bid proposals to customers.

·       Liaising with Clients, Consultants, Technical and Operations teams as necessary until handed over to DW Utilities technical team.

·       Developing and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders.

·       Contributing to market and competitor analysis, advertising and marketing plan and forecasting.

·       Attending social, marketing and networking events


Person Specification

·       Knowledge of business development techniques and methodology.

·       Knowledge of the Utilities or Construction industry.

·       Understanding of customer service and its impact on business performance.

·       Knowledge and awareness of continuous improvement within existing and new processes.

 

Skills & Abilities

·       Must be target driven with focus on completion dates and timescales.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain long term relationships.

·       Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.

·       Proactive and motivated approach.

·       Ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously.

·       Strong IT skills including MS Office suite.

 

Experience

·       Proven experience within sales or business development. Ideally, within the utilities or construction sector.

·       Strong organisational and communication skills with experience of managing multiple customers.

·       Experience of using MS Office suite and in-house databases.
