Streamline Recruitment are curretly working with a client in Tilbury who is looking for a self-motivated and experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to take full ownership of their finance function. This is a standalone role, so it’s perfect for someone who enjoys working independently and is confident in managing all aspects of accounting for a small to medium-sized business.
About the Role:
As the sole finance professional in the company, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire finance operation. This includes everything from daily bookkeeping to financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handle all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliation.
* Perform regular reconciliations of the company’s bank accounts.
* Prepare and complete all month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and financial statements.
* Generate and present monthly management accounts, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
* Process the company payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of payroll-related taxes and contributions.
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
* Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant legislation and support any audit processes.
* Manage day-to-day financial administration, including managing company expenses and petty cash.
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to the management team to support business decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an accounting role with comprehensive experience in managing end-to-end financial processes independently.
* Qualifications: AAT qualification or equivalent is diserable
* Knowledge of SAGE 50 Cloud is a must.
Monday - Friday 40 hrs ( flexible )
