Job Title: Legal Counsel
Contract Type: Inside IR35
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Contract Duration: Until the end of December 2024, with a potential extension to June 2025
Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh, Hybrid (flexible work-from-home with on-site attendance as required)
Key Requirements for the Legal Counsel Role
Essential:
Experience with General Commercial Contracts
4-7 years post-qualified experience
Must hold a GB law degree
Desirable:
Experience with Construction Contracts
Additional Information about the Legal Counsel Position
Consideration will be given to more senior candidates on a part-time basis if their rate aligns with the budget.
The Legal Counsel role involves a one-stage interview process.
Role Responsibilities for Legal Counsel
Provide legal advice and support for Global Procurement (GP) projects and global function workstreams.
As Legal Counsel, negotiate and manage multi-million-pound contracts impacting multiple markets or jurisdictions.
Deliver training, know-how, and templates to GP and in-market legal teams.
Manage legal and reputational risks effectively within the GP function.
Qualifications and Experience Required for Legal Counsel
Mandatory:
Lawyer admitted to practice in England & Wales, Scotland, Ireland, or a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
Extensive commercial in-house experience (minimum of 5 years’ PQE).
High level of professionalism, integrity, and contract drafting/negotiation skills.
Strong project management, verbal, and written communication skills.
