Responsibilities include:
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
* Perform month-end duties such as journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
* Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis against actuals.
* Assist in the preparation of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
* Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Prepare financial reports and summaries for internal stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.
* Monitor and manage the fixed asset register, including depreciation calculations.
* Assist with the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as required.
* Provide support in the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures.
* Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate reporting.
* Support ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned by the Management Accountant or Finance Manager.
The ideal candidate will be ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or qualified by experience, with prior exposure in a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, is essential. A strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are crucial for this role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently, are required.
