Jonathan Lee Recruitment is working with a client seeking a Business Development Manager for a full-time role, which can be on a hybrid basis to support the growth of our client’s production and product range within the pressed, welded and fabricated arena.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be tasked with identifying and developing opportunities within the non-construction markets to include automotive, rail, storage, metal doors and pressings to maximise their current specialism within press, welded and fabricated products and systems.
Initially the Business Development Manager will be expected to:
Build new business relationships aligned with the sales strategy, securing new clients and achieving sales/margin targets.
Develop account sales plans, including reports for the senior management, to meet annual forecasts.
Work with marketing to facilitate lead generation and sales presentations.
Work with estimation to input to quotation, negotiation, and sales closure.
Plan and execute account strategies to target new accounts using the CRM system, while updating customers profiles in HubSpot (CRM system).
Manage a pre-determined list of assigned customers, fostering long-term relationships.
Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and propose solutions.
Conduct customer meetings, requirements capture, build trust, secure repeat business.
Convert leads into sales orders through effective communication and negotiation.
Close sales deals and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the process.
To apply for this Business Development Manager role, you will need the following:
Proven ability to independently find and pursue new business in a B2B environment, ideally within the metalwork/mechanical engineering sector.
Strong understanding and application of the sales process for both new account development and customer management.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills to build trust and rapport with clients across all levels.
Negotiation focused on profitability and controlling proposals/tenders.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with strong IT skills
Clear and concise communication skills for both customers and management.
Preferred: Technical understanding of Mechanical Engineering (Laser Cutting, Fabrication, Finishing).
Applications are welcomed from experienced Business Development Managers with exposure of Laser Cutting, Pressed, Fabricated and Finishing products/services being advantageous.
